A modern catamaran with large panoramic windows takes us from the pier in the center of Lucerne to the small village of Kehrsiten. Another 6 minutes in the cable car, and we are at the main buildings of the famous Swiss resort. The views from the viewpoints are simply breathtaking. And I will tell you the history of this place, associated with many famous people. In the main summer season we can walk to the Hammetschwand elevator. The amazing construction allows in a few minutes to cover hundreds of meters and reach an altitude of 1114 m. in just 50 seconds. The first elevator was completed in 1905, and was already considered the fastest – 1 meter per second, and 30 years later the speed was 2.7 meters per second.
