Central Switzerland is a region that many people associate with the notion of the “real Switzerland”. Naturally, this image is not only made up of pastoral views of clear lakes, mountain peaks, green meadows with grazing cows and picturesque Alpine villages. Almost album landscapes could be ideally complemented by numerous reminders of serious historical facts and events from the history of the alpine state: here, in the meadow Rütli, 700 years ago Switzerland was formed as a state, here is the canton of Schwyz, thanks to which the country was named, and the national hero Wilhelm Tell lived here, too.
